Two Lancaster city teenagers have been charged as adults for taking part in a September shooting in a city neighborhood.
Alexander Whisman, 17, and his brother Joshua Whisman, 16, both fired handguns outside their home in the 300 block of East New Street shortly after 9 p.m. Sept. 16.
Lancaster Safety Coalition camera footage showed the brothers shooting handguns at two males from their front porch.
One of the bullets fired by the brothers also struck a home across the street, which was occupied at the time.
Neither brother is legally allowed to possess a firearm due to them both being juveniles.
The brothers are each charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of conspiracy, three firearms offenses and four misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person.
They are being charged as adults due to the crime involving a deadly weapon, making it a first-degree felony offense.
Both Whismans were taken to the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center last Thursday and are being held on $200,000 bail. They will face a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Andrew Lefever on Oct. 15.
Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart will prosecute the case.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
