A city man was sentenced to nine to 20 years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a young girl.
Judge Merrill Spahn sentenced Eduardo Ramos Thomas, 42, after he pleaded guilty Aug. 25 to one count each of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor–all felony offenses.
Thomas assaulted the then-10-year-old victim inside his residence in the 500 block of Lafayette Street in August 2023. Thomas would have been 39 years old at the time.
As part of his sentence, Thomas must register as a sex offender for life and will be evaluated to determine if he is a sexually violent predator.
Assistant District Attorney Jessica Collo prosecuted the case.
Lancaster City Bureau of Police Det. Jared Snader filed the charges.
