A Lancaster city juvenile charged with criminal homicide regarding a shooting in August 2021 has withdrawn his motion for decertification and will be prosecuted as an adult.
Elijahuwon Brown, 15 of the 700 block of Manor Street, withdrew the motion on October 5, 2022, and will remain held in Lancaster County Prison.
On August 27, 2021, Brown is alleged to have shot and killed Rolando Rivera in the 500 block of Third Street at approximately 9:44 p.m.
An autopsy performed on August 30, 2021, determined Rivera died due to gunshot wounds to the head and torso.
Detectives located video footage showing Brown and Rivera in the 500 and 600 blocks of Manor Street prior to the homicide. The footage also captured the shooter raising a firearm and shooting multiple times at the victim even while he falls to the ground.
Brown was charged, arrested, and arraigned on September 2, 2021, and committed to Lancaster County Prison without bail.
Brown is also charged with possession of a firearm by a minor and persons not to possess firearms.
A status conference is tentatively scheduled for November 3, 2022.
Brown is presumed innocent.
Lancaster County Bureau of Police Detective Adam Flurry filed charges.
