An Ephrata teenager charged with unleashing a hail of gunfire on a family residence in an early morning shooting will have his case proceed to county court after waiving his preliminary hearing.
Trevor Aiden Losch, of the 800 block of Clearview Avenue, waived his preliminary hearing before Judge Mary Mongiovi Sponaugle on March 24 on two counts of aggravated assault, nine counts of recklessly endangering another person and one count each of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, possession of a firearm by a minor, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing an instrument of crime and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
Losch, 17, is accused of firing some 17 to 18 shots at the residence in the first block of Deep Hollow Lane in Lancaster Township during the early morning hours of May 28, 2025.
Multiple adults and children were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, several of whom were sleeping in an upstairs bedroom when rounds penetrated the structure shortly after 2:30 a.m.
No one was injured in the shooting, though the home sustained extensive damage from gunfire including multiple bullet strikes to the exterior walls, front door and windows. A vehicle parked directly in front of the residence was also damaged by the gunfire.
Surveillance footage from the neighborhood captured audio of about 17 or 18 shots being fired in rapid succession.
Police recovered numerous spent cartridge casings, projectile fragments and unfired ammunition from the road in front of the residence.
Texts between Losch and a juvenile co-defendant indicate that they planned the shooting in the days leading up to it, discussing firearms, logistics and methods of travel to the victims’ residence. Police also uncovered texts in which Losch and the juvenile discussed obtaining handguns which matched caliber of the cartridge casings later found at the scene of the shooting.
Losch remains in the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center on $250,000 bail.
Lancaster Township Police Officer George Carlson filed the charges.
Assistant District Attorney Andrew Harbaugh will prosecute the case.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
