Three Maryland individuals are charged in a spree of retails thefts – taking mostly baby formula – from Giant stores in Lancaster and Dauphin counties.
Mark A. Rodgers, 44, is charged regarding seven thefts, six of them in Lancaster County.
Samantha Slicer, 30, is charged regarding five thefts in Lancaster County.
April M. Rhoades, 41, is charged regarding two thefts in Lancaster County.
Five different Giants stores – four in Lancaster County and one in Dauphin County – were targeted.
Police allege about $11,000 worth of items were taken from the Lancaster County stores in recent months.
All three individuals are from Elkton, Maryland. They are presumed innocent.
Northwest Regional, Manheim Township, Mount Joy Borough and East Hempfield Township police filed charges regarding the Lancaster County thefts.
Derry Township charged Rodgers in the Dauphin County case.
Police filed counts of conspiracy, along with retail theft and theft by unlawful taking.
Similac baby formula, dog food, soda, and Red Bull were stolen. Police allege the other items were used to conceal the baby formula during the thefts.
Rodgers is at Dauphin County Prison, Rhoades is at Lancaster County Prison, and Slicer is at Cecil County Detention Center in Maryland.
