A Lititz man will serve up to 25 years in prison for having child pornography on his cellphone during a meeting with his parole officer.
Kevin Yorgey had over 100 lewd photos of children on an unapproved cellphone that he brought to a Jan. 23, 2019, meeting in Lancaster city.
Yorgey’s parole officer seized the phone and had it searched.
Lancaster County Judge Thomas Sponaugle sentenced Yorgey to 12½ to 25 years in prison, in accordance with a plea agreement.
Yorgey, 50, pleaded guilty to felony counts of possession of child pornography and criminal use of a cellphone, according to Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart, who arranged the plea terms.
Yorgey must register his whereabouts with police for the rest of his life.
It was Yorgey’s second conviction for having child pornography. The prior conviction required that he register certain information, including cellular devices, with the state parole department.
Lancaster County Detective Brent Shultz filed charges.
During an interview after the phone was seized, Yorgey told Detective Shultz “he has a problem” and that he downloaded the pornography onto the phone.
