Two Lancaster men will serve years in state prison for beating a man at a city barber shop in January.
Emanuel Candelaria and Domingo Rivera each pleaded guilty recently to several crimes, including robbery, conspiracy, and illegal possession of firearms.
Candelaria, 23, will serve 8 to 20 years; Rivera, 19, will serve 7 to 18 years.
Lancaster County President Judge Dennis Reinaker ordered the sentences.
Assistant District Attorney Travis S. Anderson called the Jan. 17 incident at Level Up barber shop a “brutal attack” with the victim - the shop owner - being pistol-whipped in the head and face.
A neighbor called 911 as the attack was happening in the early afternoon. When police arrived, they saw the victim inside covered in blood and individuals running down stairs.
Candelaria and Rivera were found hiding in a basement crawl space. Their guns, both fully loaded, were found in the ceiling (a tile was moved and appeared suspicious to police).
As part of sentence, Candelaria and Rivera were ordered to pay $4,265 in restitution.
Lancaster city police Officer Jason Zahm filed charges.
