Columbia Borough police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who made a phony emergency call that led to a police response.
The unknown male called the Columbia Borough Police Department on June 23, 2026, claiming he had just stabbed another individual at a residence in the 600 block of Fairview Avenue. The suspect refused to identify himself during the call.
Patrol officers responded to the address and set up a perimeter. The suspect told police he was still inside the residence but refused to exit to meet with responding officers.
Investigators contacted the homeowner, who responded to the address and allowed police to enter. The home was cleared without incident and no evidence of criminal activity was found.
Efforts to identify the caller continue.
