The Chambersburg Police Department will be joining law enforcement nationwide from May 12th through June 1st to promote seat-belt use. This will occur especially at night when the greatest number of unbelted crashes and deaths occur. Officers strictly enforce Pennsylvania's seat belt laws 24/7, so you should always buckle up. Any time you are stopped and cited for a traffic violation and you're not wearing your seat belt, you will receive a second citation for not buckling up.
