The Chambersburg Police Department will be holding its first Citizen's Police Academy. The academy is designed to allow residents of Chambersburg, and those who are employed within the borough, to get a deeper look into the operations of the police department. Upon graduation, participants will have a better understanding of how their police officers are able to serve and protect their community. The academy classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in August, with the last class being August 24, 2017. Each class will run approximately two hours and will begin at 6:00pm. Those interested in participation should pick up an application at the front desk of the police station. The application can also be downloaded through the department's Crime Watch website (www.chambersburgpolice.com) under the heading "Forms". Applications are immediately available and must be turned in by 5:00pm on June 30, 2017. The Chambersburg Police Department is excited to open its doors and allow the citizens of Chambersburg the opportunity to see the inner workings of their police department.
