On January 5, 2026, at 7:48 a.m., the Chambersburg Police Department, CASD Police, and EMS responded to Chambersburg Area Middle School South, 1151 E. McKinley St., for an assault. It was determined that one student was injured by another student with a knife, and the suspect was quickly detained by a district officer. The injured student was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. The suspect is currently in the custody of the Chambersburg Police Department, awaiting the filing of charging documents.
