On 11/16/2025, at approximately 7:10pm, Lower Chichester Township Police Officers, while engaged in a separate incident/arrest, were dispatched to the area of the 100 Block of Fronefield Avenue, for the report of a vehicle accident, involving a possible intoxicated driver.
Assisting Officers from Upper Chichester Township Police Department, did respond to the scene and were flagged down by a witness who state that the striking vehicle was further down the street, facing the wrong direction. The operator had exited his vehicle, carrying a turkey, and refused to obey commands by Officers to remain on scene, as he continued to walk away. Even after turning to the Officer and confirming that the Officer was providing those commands to him, the subject continued to walk away.
The subject was physically detained by Officers as he attempted to make his way into a residence, but the subject then pulled away from Officers, at which point the subject was physically detained. While detained, the subject was identified as Robert Wells. Officers could detect the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the defendant's breath.
Upon the arrival of Lower Chichester Police to the scene, the investigation rendered the result that Wells had struck a minimum of two vehicles, and the damage to his vehicle was consistent with the damage as well. Another witness on location was able to identify Wells as the operator of the striking vehicle.
Wells was deemed to be under the influence after field sobriety tests had been given and, taken to the hospital for a blood draw to be used for BAC analysis.
