On Monday June 1st, 2026, at approximately 1217pm, a Lower Chichester Township Police Officer while on patrol, noticed a masked male running from the parking lot of the Family Dollar, located at 1507 Market St, carrying what appeared to be boxes of items from the store.

The Officer made his way to Summit Avene where the male was heading, when the subject noticed the Officer and abandoned the items, fleeing back towards the business.

A brief foot pursuit ensued, ending in the rear of a residence located on the 1500 block of Chichester Avenue, where the Officer observed the male throw a firearm, which he retrieved from his pocket, behind a trashcan.  The subject was taken into custody at gunpoint without further incident.

The firearm, as well as drug and drug paraphernalia were also recovered from the subject, identified as Shawn Bowman.  Further investigation did confirm that Bowman did remove the boxes of merchandise from the store, valued in excess of $100.
