The weather looks great, the water is clear and the parks have been prepped! The first Swatara Police SWATTY FLOAT is a go for tomorrow (8/22/20) at 10am. This event is being held at Schiavoni Park in Swatara Township (behind Hoss's Steak House on Bridge Road). This event is FREE to the public and includes a Meet and Greet session with Director Reider at the exit point, located at McNaughton Park within Swatara Township. Drop in is taking place between 10am and 1045am at Schiavoni Park. From there, participants will take about a 45 to 60 minute relaxing ride down the Swatara Creek to McNaughton Park where we will have an exit point. Once participants exit at McNaughton Park they can visit our Swatara tent for some hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks. This includes a meet and greet with our township's Director of Public Safety Darrell Reider and some of our police officers. Our officers will also be participating in the float with kayaks and tubes to ensure a safe and fun event for all who come out! Shuttle services will be provided back and forth between each park for those who need it. Participants must bring their own flotation devices to include tubes, kayaks, life jackets etc. This is a great opportunity to get the family out one last time before summer ends, enjoy some good food and interact with some of our police officers in a fun and relaxing atmosphere! We hope to see you there.
