The Swatara Township Police Department will begin aggressive-driving enforcement activities as part of a statewide wave running from March 16 through April 26, 2026. The law enforcement activities will be conducted throughout Swatara Township and Paxtang Borough. Approximately 300 municipal police agencies and the Pennsylvania State Police will focus on motorists exhibiting aggressive driving behaviors such as distracted driving, speeding and work zone awareness.
Please be aware that you may see an increase in traffic stops involving our officers during this time period. We would like to remind motorists about the importance of the Move Over law when you approach an active emergency vehicle scene. This law is designed to keep our officers and other first responders, to include tow truck drivers, safe while out on the roadway. Always remember to buckle up everytime you get into a vehicle and above all, ARRIVE ALIVE!
