UPDATE 05/20/2026 - ARREST MADE / SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Swatara Twp. Police Detectives arrested and charged sixteen year-old Tarojay Taylor of Penbrook Borough.  Due to the seriousness of the offenses, the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office authorized Taylor to be charged as an adult and faces Criminal Attempt - Homicide, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and various Firearms Violation charges.  He is currently in custody of the Swatara Township Police and will be arraigned at the Dauphin County Booking Center.  The victim continues to recover from serious injuries sustained during this shooting.  Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to contact the Swatara Township Police Detective Platt at 717-564-2550, kplatt@swatarapolice.org or by submitting a tip on Crimewatch. 

UPDATE 05/12/2026

This investigation continues as additional information continues to be developed through various means including cooperating witnesses.  Our Detectives have determined that this shooting occurred at a party following the Harrisburg High School prom involving a large group of juveniles and others who arrived at the Summit View apartment complex in the 8300 block of President's Drive.   As this incident involves a large number of juveniles, and serious injuries to the victim, we are asking all parents and guardians of the juveniles who attended the party to assist in this investigation by providing any information known to their family members.

On Sunday May 10, 2026 at approximately 0100 hours, Swatara Police were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 8300 block of Presidents Drive. A 16 year old female victim was located and treated on scene prior to being transported by ambulance to an area hospital. The suspect(s) was not located and the investigation is ongoing.
