On June 10, 2026, our newest K-9 took the "Oath of Office" at the Swatara Township Board of Commissioners Meeting. Corporal Timothy Bloss and K-9 Axel completed the Iron Rose K-9 Academy on Monday June 8th, and K-9 Axel was officially sworn in by Magisterial District Judge Kenneth Lenker who administered the oath of office at the public meeting. 

This is Corporal Bloss' second K-9 partner. K-9 J.T. was officially retired at the Board of Commissioners Meeting on June 3, 2026. 

K-9 Axel is certified for Patrol and Narcotics work. Corporal Bloss and K-9 Axel will begin working together on a patrol platoon right away.
