


The Swatara Karate Academy will be hosting another FREE Self Defense Class for women on Saturday May 13th from 10am-2pm at the Swatara Township Municipal building, located at 599 Eisenhower Boulevard Harrisburg, PA. This beginners class will focus on maneuvers that would surprise or stun an attacker, and provide an opportunity for the victim to get to a place of safety. There is no cost for this event, however registration is required and space is limited. The instructional portion will take place from 10am to 12:00pm. From 12pm to 2pm Cpl. Pokrop from the Swatara Township Police Department and Magisterial District Judge Michael Smith, will be discussing situations where self defense would be applicable and the legality of self defense in Pennsylvania. Protection From Abuse (PFA's) will also be covered. Participants will be allotted time to ask questions. If you plan on attending this event we ask that you wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes/sneakers. This class is open to both Swatara residents and non-residents.
