The Swatara Township Police participated in the department’s 2^nd Annual Shop with a Cop event on 12/16/15. Children experiencing hardships, who attend schools within Swatara Township, were selected to participate in this event. Children were paired up with one of our officers and were able to shop for gifts for their family members. The gifts were purchased by the police department with some help by Target. This experience helps bridge gaps between the police and the public by allowing us to give back to the community we serve. It also allows the children to gain trust in the police and gives them a positive interaction with law enforcement. Thank you to Target of High Pointe Commons for their continued support of this event. We would also like to thank the friends and family members who volunteered their time to help make this event successful.
