The Susquehanna Township Police Department has received some recent inquiries into why citizens were not notified of registered sexual offenders that live in the township.  We have attached the links below for the Pennsylvania State Police Megan’s Law website and the Megan’s Law FAQ website.  These sites should provide our community with the specific requirements concerning notifications in accordance with State Law.

Although all of those registered on the Megan’s Law website are considered “registered sexual offenders”, under state law only those classified as “sexually violent predators” (SVP) will require the local agency to make a specific community notification.  The details of which can be found on the below websites.
