The Susquehanna Township Police Department would like to remind all motorists of a few safety tips when driving in the winter months.

Before you go:

1. Check roadway conditions and adjust travel time
2. Clear snow & ice from your vehicle
3. Make sure you have winter supplies in your vehicle

On the road:

1. Slow down and keep a safe following distance 
2. Apply breaks gently 
3. Watch for black ice, especially on bridges and underpasses

If you skid:

1. Stay calm
2. Ease off the gas
3. Steer into the slide

Drive safe, arrive safe.
