The Steelton Borough Police Department, in partnership with the Dauphin County Juvenile Probation Office, conducted another proactive curfew enforcement detail on Friday, July 10, 2026, as part of our continued commitment to promoting public safety and ensuring the well-being of our community's youth.

During the operation, officers and juvenile probation personnel identified fourteen (14) juveniles who violated the Borough's juvenile curfew ordinance. The juveniles were returned to their parents or guardians, and the appropriate follow-up procedures have been initiated.

In addition to the curfew enforcement efforts, officers also arrested one adult for alleged violations of Pennsylvania's controlled substance laws.

This operation reflects a reduction in the number of curfew violations compared to our previous enforcement detail. While there is still work to be done, this decrease is an encouraging indicator that increased enforcement, parental awareness, and community engagement are having a positive impact.

The Steelton Borough Police Department remains committed to conducting periodic curfew enforcement details throughout the summer. These initiatives are designed not only to enforce the law but also to protect our youth by reducing their exposure to crime, victimization, and other high-risk situations during late-night hours.

We extend our appreciation to the Dauphin County Juvenile Probation Office for their continued partnership and collaboration in these efforts. Working together, we can create a safer environment for our children and improve the overall quality of life throughout the Borough.
