The Steelton Borough Police Department continues to prioritize traffic safety through proactive enforcement and regional partnerships. On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the Steelton Borough Police Department partnered with Pennsylvania State Police Troop H to conduct a joint traffic enforcement operation at several locations throughout the Borough known for speeding complaints and hazardous driving behaviors.
The purpose of the operation was to improve roadway safety, deter dangerous driving, and address traffic violations that place motorists, pedestrians, and our community at risk.
The combined results of the enforcement detail were as follows:
Drug Arrests: 1
While speeding enforcement was the primary objective of the initiative, officers also remained vigilant for other criminal activity encountered during traffic stops. As demonstrated by the arrests made during the operation, proactive traffic enforcement not only improves roadway safety but also serves as an effective crime reduction strategy.
The Steelton Borough Police Department appreciates the assistance and partnership of the Pennsylvania State Police Troop H in making this operation a success. Collaborative efforts such as these strengthen our ability to address community concerns while enhancing public safety.
Residents can expect to see additional joint traffic enforcement details throughout the year as we continue to focus on speeding, aggressive driving, impaired driving, and other hazardous traffic violations. We encourage all motorists to obey posted speed limits, eliminate distractions, wear seat belts, and drive responsibly.
Together, through education, enforcement, and partnership, we can continue making Steelton's roadways safer for everyone.
