Middletown Borough Police would like to provide the Borough community, and neighboring Public, with an update to last week's Child Incident in the 200 Block of West Main Street on 3/20/2022, along with our original Broadcast via CrimeWatch following said incident (can be referenced below).
UPDATES-
1. Middletown Borough PD has interviewed the lone witness to the incident, and they are not believed to have been involved in the child's behavior in any capacity, and were acting as a Good Samaritan.
2. Middletown Borough PD Patrol/and Middletown Borough PD Criminal Investigation Unit has exhausted all known leads at this time.
3. Middletown Borough PD received no further calls relative to the incident on 3/20/2022, immediately following the incident, or in the days that followed.
4. No parents, guardians, family members, loved ones, etc. have reported their child missing in the Borough since this incident was reported to Police on 3/20/2022.
5. No neighboring jurisdictions/Police agencies have notified Middletown Borough Police of any reports corroborating the incident, nor reported to Middletown PD any incidents of children missing from neighboring jurisdictions, referencing our incident on 3/20/2022.

Original Broadcast from 3/20/2022: "On 03-20-2022, at approximately 11:19 Pm, a good samaritan heading to work, spotted a young child running east on West Main St between North Catherine St and Union St. The child, a white male approximately 11 years old, dark hair, wearing dark pajamas, was running on the north side of West Main St towards Union St. When the good samaritan stopped his vehicle and asked the child if he was ok, the boy stated "someone is chasing me". Though the good samaritan told him to stay put until he pulled his car around to help, the boy took off running in the same direction as before. Last seen in the area of the 7 & Eleven. Anyone having information about the incident is asked to to contact police at 717-558-6900. If you live in the area mentioned above and have a child fitting that description we are asking you to ensure that they are where they are suppose to be.
