On Sunday, February 23, 2020 at approximately 1057 hours, MPD attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black tinted out Dodge Charger in the area of Vine Street and Ridge Avenue.  The vehicle failed to yield and fled MPD northbound on Vine Street at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic and running a steady red light.  The vehicle was not located; however, as a result of a thorough investigation, the defendant; Marion Smith Jr. was located the following day and turned himself in.  Smith Jr. was arraigned in front of MDJ Judy.
