The Borough of Highspire would like to inform residents that the temporary burn ban will be lifted on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.
Due to improving conditions, Mayor Von Hess has terminated the Emergency Declaration that prohibited outdoor burning.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience during this temporary restriction, which helped reduce the risk of fire and protect our community during the recent period of elevated fire danger.

The Borough of Highspire has declared a temporary ban on all outdoor burning, including the use of fireworks.
Due to severe drought conditions and an elevated risk of fire, Mayor Von Hess has issued an Emergency Declaration prohibiting all outdoor burning activities within the Borough of Highspire beginning Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., and continuing until further notice. This ban is effective immediately.
Exception: This ban does not prohibit the use of above-ground, covered charcoal or gas grills when used solely for the preparation of food.
