On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, during the Highspire Borough public meeting, Mayor Von Hess and the Highspire Borough Police Department announced the promotion of Christopher Santiago to the rank of Sergeant.
Sergeant Santiago is a graduate of Lebanon High School and Harrisburg Area Community College, where he completed the 69th Police Academy class. Following his education, he served as a part-time Police Officer at the Halifax Borough Police Department and the Penbrook Borough Police Department.
Sergeant Santiago commenced his tenure with the Highspire Borough Police Department in July 2006 as a Patrol Officer, demonstrating exceptional performance. He was subsequently appointed as a Field Training Officer, and taught the D.A.R.E program at Steelton-Highspire Elementary School for a decade. Additionally, he served as a member of the Dauphin County Crisis Response Team before his promotion to Detective in 2022.
