November 2, 2015- Commonwealth v Ronnie Tilghman: On November 2, 2015, Ronnie Tilghman pled to Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats and Recklessly Endangering Another Person in exchange for a sentence of 4-8 years in a state correctional institution and a consecutive 5 years probation.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on December 11, 2014 between Tilghman and the victim, his girlfriend at the time. Tilghman and his girlfriend got into an argument over whether or not he was allowed to use the victim’s vehicle to go out to a bar downtown. The incident escalated when Tilghman held a knife to the victim’s throat, threatened to cut her throat and eventually cut her hand with the knife. The victim attempted to get away from Tilghman. Tilghman was able to catch up to with the victim and threatened to kill her multiple times until she eventually got back into the car. She stated she got back into the car due to fear that Tilghman would hurt her. Tilghman then drove down Emerald Street in Harrisburg City at a high rate of speed. He ended up crashing the vehicle into numerous other vehicles. The victim was able to get out of the vehicle and the police and EMS were able to locate her due to a third party calling 911 during the original altercation. The victim was also able to call 911 during the incident and the phone line was kept open, allowing the entire incident to be recorded. Tilghman fled the scene prior to police or EMS arriving to treat the victim. The victim was treated at the emergency room and is still receiving on going medical treatment for the serious injuries that she sustained as a result of the incident. Deputy District Attorney Codi Tucker prosecuted this case on behalf of the Commonwealth. Detectives Michael Sanderson and Christopher Krokos of the Harrisburg Bureau of Police investigated this case.
