On Monday May 16, 2022, Officer Rob Doll received a Medal of Valor award from the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office for his actions on August 6, 2021 while serving with the Borough of Steelton Police Department.  Officer Doll along with Steelton Police Officer Cory Allwein and Steelton Police Officer Art Etnoyer responded to a fully engulfed building with entrapment. The officers attempted to gain entry and as mentioned on the award "selflessly exposing themselves to significant risk of death, to attempt to save the people inside".  Unfortunately, the investigation revealed that this was a murder suicide in which the victims died prior to the fire.  Their actions represent the dedication and selfless service that first responders do on a daily basis in which too often goes without recognition.  Thank you, Officer Doll, Officer Etnoyer, and Officer Allwein, for your quick professional response in this tragic incident.
