This accident occurred as Unit 1 was travelling west on West North St. at a high rate of speed.  The right front of Unit 1 impacted a curb.  After impact, Unit 1 became air born, landed on a side walk before becoming air born, going over a 20 foot embankment.  The front of Unit 1 struck the ground, causing Unit 1 to roll in a clockwise direction, travelling in a westerly direction.  Unit 1 came to rest on it's wheels.  Opr 1 was removed by rescue personnel.  Opr 1 was not wearing a seat belt and later transported via Cumberland Goodwill ambulance to Holy Spirit hospital for his injuries and admitted.
