On Friday, March 20th, 2026 @ approx. 1345 hrs, the North Middleton Police responded to the intersection of Maplewood Dr. and Pennsylvania Ave for shots fired.  Officers arrived and found 25 y/o Jamal SPELLS, of Carlisle reporting his child was taken by the mother who was with 2 other unidentified adult males.  SPELLS was determined to have fired his handgun at the mother's vehicle multiple times as they left the scene.  SPELLS was taken into custody on charges of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangering, Endangering the welfare of children and Discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.  The child and other occupants of the vehicle were unharmed and cooperated with the investigation.  SPELLS is currently being held in Cumberland County Prison awaiting arraignment.
