Family, friends, New Cumberland Borough officials and fellow law enforcement officers gathered Wednesday night for the promotion and pinning ceremony of Officer Thomas Wambold to Sergeant Thomas Wambold. Sgt. Wambold took the oath of office from Mayor Joan Erney and was pinned by his wife, Emily.

Sergeant Wambold (AKA Tommy) is well known throughout the New Cumberland Borough community especially in anything to do with kiddos. Often, you will find him in the schools teaching TEAM, on the courts missing a free-throw or just interacting with kids at the park.

Sergeant Wambold started his career in law enforcement at the Newville Borough Police Department in Cumberland County and has been with the NCB Police Department for six years.
