The New Cumberland Borough Police Department is proud to welcome Officer Evan Ramos as our newest Full-Time Police Officer.
Officer Ramos is a 2018 graduate of Shippensburg University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and a graduate of the HACC Police Academy. He previously served with the Harrisburg City PD from 2023–2026.
During his time at Harrisburg PD, Officer Ramos served in several specialized roles, including the Mounted Bike Unit, Warrant Service Unit, and as a Defensive Tactics Instructor.
Before beginning his law enforcement career, Officer Ramos was deeply involved in collegiate athletics as both a competitor and a coach. At Shippensburg University, he compiled an outstanding 98–17 career record, qualifying for three NCAA Division II National Championships. He earned two All-American honors at 197 pounds and was ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation entering the 2018 NCAA Championships.
Officer Ramos has also competed internationally as a member of the Puerto Rico Wrestling National Team since 2018, earning a bronze medal at the Pan-American Championships (97kg). His coaching experience includes time at the University at Buffalo, where he coached a MAC Champion and seven NCAA Division I National Championship qualifiers, as well as serving as a volunteer coach at Bucknell University.
Officer Ramos is married and a proud parent of three daughters. He was drawn to the New Cumberland community due to its strong emphasis on community policing and the high level of community support.
