As we approach the holiday season and continue the proud celebration of America’s 250th, the New Cumberland Borough Police Department would like to remind residents of Pennsylvania’s Fireworks Laws and important safety considerations.
Under Pennsylvania law, consumers must be 18 years of age or older to purchase and use consumer fireworks.
🚫 Fireworks may NOT be used:
• Within 150 feet of an occupied structure or vehicle
• On public property or another person’s property without permission
• While under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• In any manner that endangers people, pets, or property
⚠️ Fireworks can cause serious injury, fires, and property damage when used improperly. We encourage all residents to celebrate responsibly and be considerate of veterans, pets, young children, and others who may be sensitive to loud noises.
As we proudly mark the 250th celebration of our nation, let’s do so in a way that reflects respect, safety, and community pride.
🎇 Celebrate responsibly and have a safe holiday season!
