On April 16th, 2026, at approximately 7:28 am, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of East Marble and South Arch Streets for a struck bicyclist. Officers arrived on scene and determined a 9 year old was on their way to school on their bicycle. They were travelling south on South Arch Street. The juvenile proceeded into the intersection and was struck by a vehicle travelling east on East Marble Street. The juvenile suffered injuries from the impact and was evaluated by EMS on the scene. They were eventually transported to the hospital for further evaluation of their injuries which are believed to be minor in nature. The juvenile was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The juvenile did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection which is required. The vehicle travelling eastbound did not have a stop sign for their direction. The police department was assisted on scene by Penn State Health EMS.
