On April 9th, 2026, at approximately 8:17 am, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of South York Street and West Maplewood Avenue. Upon arrival officers determined a vehicle pulled from the stop sign on West Maplewood Avenue to travel across South York Street going westbound. Upon pulling into the intersection they were struck by a vehicle travelling south on South York Street. The driver of the struck vehicle and two passengers were transported to the hospital by EMS for further evaluation. The struck vehicle required towing from the scene due to the damage it sustained. The police department was assisted on scene by Penn State Health EMS, Hampden Township EMS and the Mechanicsburg Fire Department.
