On April 7th, 2026, at approximately 4:00 pm, the police department was dispatched to the 1st block of West Simpson Street for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined a vehicle stopped facing west on West Simpson Street and was intending to turn left onto South Frederick Street. A second vehicle stopped behind them, but the third vehicle back did not stop in time. The third vehicle struck the second vehicle in the rear and pushed it into the first vehicle. The middle vehicle required towing from the scene due to the damage it sustained in the crash. The police department was assisted on scene by Penn State Health EMS.
