On July 6th, 2026, at approximately 5:43 pm, the police department was contacted by the manager of the Mechanicsburg Cemetery about damage to the mausoleum. The cemetery is located in the 100 block of West Marble Street. Officers determined someone gained entry into the basement portion of the building through a window. After being inside the door was kicked open to exit the building. A witness advised they saw about 5 to 6 individuals near the mausoleum around the time of the incident occurring. Nothing inside appeared to be missing or damaged further. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the police department.
