On August 11th, 2026, at approximately 9:34 am, the police department was contacted by a victim advising their EBT credit card was used without their permission. The victim, who resides in the 1st block of North Market Street, reported they discovered the funds deposited onto their account had been used already when attempting to make a purchase. The victim advised they looked at their account and found numerous transactions made in Maryland which they did not authorize. They reported they still had the card in their possession so it is unknown how the credit card information was obtained. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
