The Lower Allen Township Police Department's 2025 Patrol Officer of the Year award was presented to Officer Nate McDowell on 02/02/2026.

Officer McDowell was nominated by his supervisor 7 out of 12 months in 2025 for various examples of excellent work performance, leadership example, and initiative.  Officer McDowell consistently ranked amongst the top of the department in self-initiated criminal investigations and overall calls, including narcotics enforcement and arrest warrant services, among others.  Additionally, Officer McDowell was praised for his excellent training of officers in the use of new taser equipment in 2025 and for achieving a promotion to Officer in Charge status on his current squad.
