Trick-or-Treat Safety Alert for October 31, 2024
The East Pennsboro Township Police Department would like to remind families that trick-or-treating will take place TONIGHT, October 31st, 2024 between 6PM and 8PM. For a safe and enjoyable Halloween, we encourage parents and guardians to join their children as they visit neighborhoods throughout our community.
Here are some important safety tips for the evening:
- Parental Supervision: Parents or responsible adults should accompany young children at all times. Older children who are trick-or-treating independently are encouraged to go in groups.
- Use Crosswalks: For everyone’s safety, please use designated crosswalks and sidewalks. Avoid crossing the street between parked cars, and remember to look both ways.
- Wear Reflective Clothing or Carry a Light: To improve visibility, we recommend that all trick-or-treaters wear reflective clothing. If costumes are dark or do not have reflective features, carry a flashlight, glow stick, or other light source to stay visible to drivers.
- Inspect All Candy: Parents should inspect candy before allowing children to eat it. Discard any unwrapped or suspicious-looking items.
Let’s work together to make this Halloween a safe and memorable evening for all. We wish everyone a fun night filled with treats and happy memories!
