The Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority (IFPA) is responsible for evaluating and addressing insurance fraud throughout the Commonwealth. The IFPA supports these efforts by providing grants to law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute insurance fraud cases. In addition, the Authority promotes consumer awareness through public education campaigns that highlight the costs and consequences of insurance fraud. The IFPA is funded solely through annual insurance fraud assessments paid by insurance carriers.
