On March 16, 2026, Lock Haven City police responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The victim reported that a pickup truck intentionally hit them and fled the scene. Shortly after, a Commonwealth University-Lock Haven officer located the truck and initiated a traffic stop. However, the suspect fled the stop, rammed the patrol vehicle multiple times, and fled again. The driver then led officers on a high-speed chase through city streets, crossing the Veteran's bridge into Woodward Township, where they turned the truck around and drove head-on toward officers, striking a second patrol vehicle and disabling it. The suspect continued to flee, striking a parked vehicle during the pursuit, and eventually came to a stop due to becoming disabled. Pennsylvania State Police troopers were in the area assisting and were able to apprehended the suspect. The suspect was taken to the Clinton County Correctional Facility for processing and attempted to flee officers once again after exiting the patrol vehicle. The suspect was charged with Aggravated Assault (F1 and F2), Criminal Attempt - Homicide by Vehicle (F3), Criminal Attempt - Aggravated Assault by Vehicle (F3), Feeling or Attempting to Flee (F3), Criminal Attempt - Escape (F3), Simple Assault (M2), Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), Resisting Arrest or Other Law Enforcement (M2), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance (M), and Reckless Driving (S).
