An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect due to dangerous temperatures and heat index values across Chester County, expected Wednesday July 1, 2026 to Saturday July 4, 2026.
Thursday and Friday are expected to be the hottest days. Thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The extreme heat can potentially cause power outages. If this occurs within West Whiteland Township, additional communication will be shared to keep the community informed.
All residents should prepare for the high heat, especially our at-risk populations including senior citizens, young children and those with heat sensitivity. Cooling centers can be found across Chester County for those needing a place to cool off. Cooling centers are public pools, libraries, senior centers or parks with a water feature.
