On Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the stated Parkesburg Borough Council Meeting, Mayor John P. Hagan II swore in three new officers and promoted a current part-time officer to full-time status. The Borough Hall was filled with friends and family, along with police officers from neighboring departments. The following officers were recognized during this ceremony:
Officer Patrick Gaffney - promoted from part-time to full-time status
Officer Joseph Carboni - sworn in as a full-time Police Officer
Officer Liam Smith - sworn in as a part-time Police Officer
Detective Marc Meshurle - sworn in as a part-time Detective
During this ceremony Mayor Hagan acknowledged National Police Week, from May 11th through May 17th, while he paid tribute to all Law Enforcement Officers. The hiring of these four officers will allow for the Parkesburg Borough Police Department to transition during pending retirements, which are approaching quickly. We welcome these officers to our agency, and we are confident that they will serve our communities with compassion and professionalism.
