The Parkesburg Borough Police Department recognizes the need to keep our citizens safe from ongoing scams.  Below is a current scam taking place via text messaging:

Text messages claiming to be from the "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Motor Vehicles (DMV)" regarding unpaid traffic tickets or suspended registration are scams. Do not click links or provide personal/financial information. PennDOT does not send text messages regarding violations or fines. 

Recipients are encouraged to BLOCK & DELETE the numbers associated with these scams.  Please remember, do not give any personal information to someone contacting you by phone or through text messaging.  Legitimate businesses DO NOT communicate this way.
