The PARKESBURG BOROUGH POLICE DEPARTMENT will be conducting a testing process to establish an eligibility list for the purpose of IMMEDIATELY hiring Full-Time Police Officers.  

Applications are available on the PARKESBURG BOROUGH POLICE DEPARTMENT's CRIMEWATCH website, or an application may be picked from the police department during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.  

The application due date will be Monday, August 10, 2026, by 4PM.  Completed applications must be handed in or mailed to (if mailed application must be received before deadline):

The written examination will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Parkesburg Borough Hall, beginning promptly at 8:00 AM.  Doors will open at 7:30 AM.  Following the completion of the written examination, a physical agility testing process will be immediately conducted on the campus of the Octorara Area School District.  Those candidates who successfully pass the written examination and the physical agility testing will receive notification to appear on a specific date and time for an oral interview.  After the oral interviews are conducted, those remaining eligible candidates will be identified on a eligibility list approved by the Parkesburg Borough Civil Service Commission.  Based upon the posted eligibility list, candidates will proceed with the following testing requirements;

• Polygraph Examination
• Psychological Examination
• Background Investigation 

An approved candidate who successfully completes the aforementioned testing requirements may receive a conditional offer of employment, pending a final medical examination to establish fitness for duty.
