🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE SHARE WITH THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE 🚨
Please share this important message with your family, friends, neighbors, and especially elderly loved ones.
Scammers continue to target hard-working citizens by pretending to be members of local, state, or federal law enforcement agencies. These criminals are very convincing and may claim that you or a family member is in legal trouble, has missed jury duty, has a warrant, or owes fines that must be paid immediately.
Their goal is simple: to scare you into handing over large sums of money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or other forms of payment before you have time to verify the information.
⚠️ Remember:
• Law enforcement agencies do not demand immediate payment over the phone.
• Never provide personal or financial information to an unknown caller.
• Do not send money, purchase gift cards, or transfer funds based on threats or urgent demands.
• Be suspicious of phone calls, emails, text messages, or even unexpected visitors claiming to represent law enforcement.
If you receive one of these contacts, STOP and VERIFY.
📞 Call 911 and request an Oxford Borough Police Officer respond to speak with you. We can help determine if the contact is legitimate before you risk losing your hard-earned savings.
Taking a few minutes to verify could save you from losing your life's savings.
