News Release
The Oxford Borough Police Department conducted a total of 15 hours of directed patrols throughout the Borough on March 23, March 25, and March 28. These patrols focused on areas identified as having increased traffic concerns.
Targeted enforcement locations and violations included:
- Speeding in school zones
- One-way violations (Coach Street & Western Terrace)
- Stop sign violations (Coach Street & Second Street)
- Speeding in the 600 block of Lincoln Street
- Speeding in the 200–300 block of South Third Street
- Speeding in the 400 block of West Locust Street
- Equipment and inspection violations
- License plate checks for registration expiration and insurance status (over 1,900 plates scanned)
Enforcement Results:
- 53 traffic stops conducted
- 19 citations issued
- 34 warnings issued
- 1 criminal arrest (outstanding warrant)
- 31 school zone speeding violations
- 5 speeding violations (South Third Street)
- 4 speeding violations (Lincoln Street)
- 5 stop sign violations (Coach Street & Second Street)
- 2 equipment violations
- 3 expired registration violations
- 1 driving without a license violation
- 0 one-way violations (Coach Street & Western Terrace)
- 1 speeding violation (W Locust Street)
The Oxford Borough Police Department reminds all drivers to slow down and remain mindful of pedestrian and bicycle traffic, especially in residential areas and school zones.
