On April 29, 2026, members of the Cambria County Drug Task Force were involved in a narcotics and firearms interdiction detail in the Moxham section of Johnstown.
During this detail, officers attempted to pull over a Chevrolet Malibu for traffic violation. The vehicle fled from officers, leading them on a high speed vehicle pursuit. The vehicle eventually pulled over, which is when the two occupants, identified as Kasir Patterson and Emanuel Patterson, fled on foot. After brief foot pursuits, both individuals were apprehended and taken into custody. On scene assisting with the investigation, was the Cambria County Detectives Office and K9 Blitz. K9 Blitz gave a positive alert for an indication of drugs within the vehicle. A search warrant for the vehicle was compiled and approved by the Cambria County District Attorney's Office. The warrant was then signed by MDJ Varner.
As a result of the search warrant being executed, investigators seized approximately 214 grams of crack cocaine ($21,400 street value), and 23 grams of marijuana ($230 street value). There was also $500 in US Currency seized as well during this investigation.
Criminal complaints for Kasir and Emanuel were compiled. Both are charged with (1) count of PWID, (1) count of feeling or attempted to elude officer, and other related traffic offenses. Kasir and Emanuel were transported to the booking center at the Cambria County Jail and are awaiting arraignment.
As a result of this detail, there were over 25 traffic stops conducted. In addition, investigators also impounded an additional vehicle. A search warrant for that vehicle was completed and is pending execution.
